The area where we band next to the Lake Lotus park in Altamonte Springs was long used as a dumping ground for decades. In recent years they have erected fences to keep that activity from happening again. Now that we are there, we have been been finding many things in the surrounding grounds that sometimes bring a big interest apart from our birding.
I have decided to start profiling some of the more interesting finds here in this blog.
We have found a lot of things that sparked our curiosity but one of the most interesting of late was an odd discovery uncovered one morning as Andrew was digging out bricks and stones along the trail. Out of the leaves there appeared a flap of white plastic. It turned out to be a stack of bags that were over 30 years old.
